Excellence in Neurosurgical Care
Washington Neurosurgical Associates provides comprehensive neurosurgical care to patients in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Our physicians are Board Certified neurosurgeons, with extensive experience and expertise in the breadth of conservative and surgical management of patients with cranial, spinal and peripheral nerve disorders. We provide an unparalleled level of patient care focused on treating our patients as we would want our family members to be treated. All of our physicians have been recognized and honored by their peers as Top Doctors by Washingtonian magazine for multiple consecutive years.
Conservative Care
Most spinal conditions can be treated with non-surgical options. Our physicians believe in the success of these options - such as physical therapy, injections, and other types of treatment with a goal of avoiding an operation. Our team helps to coordinate these modalities to treat most conditions non-operatively as a first priority.
Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery
Most patients with spinal conditions can be successfully treated without surgery. But when surgery is necessary, minimally invasive surgical options exist that can allow you to treat spinal conditions with less injury to the normal tissues of the body. This allows smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays, less postoperative pain, and quicker return to normal activity.
The physicians at Washington Neurosurgical Associates perform the vast majority of their spinal surgery with these minimally invasive techniques. They also teach physicians across the country in these techniques, using the latest technologies such as intraoperative navigation and microscopic procedures.
Oncology Care
Our physicians provide the same comprehensive, holistic and patient-centered approaches to patients with an oncology diagnosis. This includes spinal and spinal cord tumors, brain tumors (both primary and metastatic) and pituitary tumors. They seek to employ the same minimally-invasive techniques with oncology diagnoses in order to perform successful surgeries with smaller incisions and quicker recoveries.
Motion Preserving Spine Options
If you've been told that you need a fusion, there are other options out there. Our physicians believe in attempting non-fusion procedures for spinal conditions when they are appropriate. We also offer the latest techniques in motion preserving spinal surgeries such as artificial disk replacement.
Research & Clinical Trials
Washington Neurosurgical Associates actively participates in multiple clinical trials with a goal of pushing forward the art and science of neurosurgery. This offers our patients the opportunity to be involved in new treatment options currently being studied, as well as helping to perfect the existing treatment options that are already available.
