About Us

Joshua M. Ammerman, MD

Joshua M. Ammerman, MDDr. Ammerman is a native Washingtonian who received his bachelor's degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and subsequently his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. Dr. Ammerman then completed his neurosurgical training at George Washington University and a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. He currently serves as an assistant clinical professor of neurosurgery at the George Washington University School of Medicine and has been recognized as one of Washington's Top Doc's by Washingtonian magazine. Dr. Ammerman is an accomplished clinician, surgeon and author in the surgical and non-surgical management of disorders of the brain and spine with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques.


Matthew D. Ammerman, MD

Matthew D. Ammerman, MDDr. Matthew Ammerman was born and raised in the Washington DC area. He attended Emory University for his undergraduate degree and completed his medical education at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Ammerman completed his neurosurgical training at George Washington University and his spine fellowship at the University of Tennessee with an emphasis on minimally invasive treatments for spinal disease. Dr. Ammerman serves as an assistant clinical professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine.


Joshua J. Wind, MD

Joshua J. Wind, MDDr. Joshua Wind has called the Washington area home since 1995. He received his undergraduate degree at the College of William and Mary, in Virginia and his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Wind then completed his neurosurgical training at George Washington University, and a clinical and research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. He currently serves as an assistant clinical professor of neurosurgery at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Wind has authored numerous publications on varieties of topics in neurosurgery, including minimally invasive spine surgery, pituitary tumors, and neuro-oncology.


Drs. Ammerman and Wind supervise the monthly journal club for the neurosurgical residents at the George Washington University.
